Hi welcome to my website.
The main function of this website is to show my portfolio and write little blogs about my activities as a photographer.
But on this page I will provide some personal information.
I’m born and raised in The Netherlands, but of young age I’m influenced by Asian cultures and traditions.
I work for a major IT company in The Netherlands in the field of IT Process management and Quality management.
I have a vast experience as a backpacker to SE-Asia. Over the years I made more then 30 trips to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Korea and Japan. I’m fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and speak some basic Thai. I ‘know’ Asian culture from inside-out. Besides Asia I made several trips to the USA as well.
I study and practice (Sōtō) Zen for about 15 years and I’m a student of Frank De Waele Roshi, who is a well known Zen master from Belgium. I received Jukai in 2007 and Shuke Tokudo in 2009 from the American Zen master Genpo Roshi. In 2013 I received the Peacemaker precepts of Frank De Waele Roshi. Besides several (zen)retraites a year I also participate in a yearly streetretraite. As part of my peacemaker activities I volunteer at the Nabij foundation..
Besides Zen and traveling I have one other passion: Photography. I graduated at the University of Applied Photography with a score of ‘Outstanding‘ and the advise to work in the field of street- and documentary photography.
